In November Hobart City Council erected its “Christmas tree with a difference”. The ultra-modern tree was erected in Salamanca Square but became a global talking point with people taking to social media to voice their comments. Insight GIS decided to show the power of GIS as a communication tool and map the tweets of people commenting on the tree.
