Web-based Mapping
Web mapping or Web GIS enables access to geospatial mapping on the internet through a web browser interface. From here, your geospatial information can be shared on the web, across smartphones and tablets.
The key benefit is its ability for mapping to be accessed in a flexible manner, while providing an intuitive way to interact with location data. This allows mapping to be used by multiple types of users, not only GIS professionals.
Flexibility
Insight GIS has developed a number of web-based mapping applications for internal and public use. Our first application was in 1997, when we developed a mapping application for the Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race. Since then we have continually upgraded our applications to provide a richer and more informative experience for the public, senior management and communities.
Our focus is to firstly integrate data from a range of sources (from government mapping servers to internal data bases) and the deliver a web map interface that that allows your information to be easily accessed and consumed.
